From Enquiry to Charter — 5 Steps
The CWM® registration journey is straightforward and fully online. Here is exactly what to expect at each stage.
Submit Your Enquiry or Contact Information
Start by filling the enquiry form on this page or the AAFM India contact page. A counsellor will call you to confirm your pathway choice, walk you through the fee structure and answer any questions about the programme.
Register Online and Pay the Programme Fee
Complete the online registration form on the AAFM India student portal. Select your pathway, upload required documents (identity proof, educational certificates), choose your study mode — self-paced, online-live or classroom — and pay the programme fee (from Rs.42,000 + GST, EMI available). Alternatively, download and submit the offline registration form if you prefer a paper-based submission.
Account Activation and Materials Access
Once your payment is processed and verified (typically within 7 working days), your student account is activated. Your welcome correspondence from AAFM USA is dispatched and your 365-day study window begins. You gain full access to the online courseware for all 20 units across both levels.
Schedule and Sit Your Examinations
When you feel ready, schedule your Level I exam through Pearson VUE, Prometric or NSE Academy — no earlier than 60 days after registration (Compulsory Pathway) or 30 days (Experience Pathway). Pay the Level I exam fee (Rs.7,080) at scheduling. After clearing Level I, wait at least 15 days, then schedule Level II (Rs.9,440). Exams are available 365 days a year across 75 Indian and 200+ global cities.
Pay the Certification Fee and Receive Your Charter
On passing both levels, pay the USD 100 certification fee. AAFM USA processes your application and dispatches the CWM® charter. You may then use the designation Chartered Wealth Manager® / CWM® after your name, recognised in 151+ countries.
What Happens Once You Are Enrolled
Registration is the start — here is what your first 90 days as a CWM® student typically look like.
Most students begin with a structured self-study plan aligned to the 20-unit curriculum. Level I covers ten Foundation units on wealth management principles, asset classes, portfolio construction and financial planning. Level II covers ten Advanced units culminating in a live capstone wealth plan that integrates the full programme.
The student portal gives you access to practice question banks and mock exams that mirror the real format — 85 questions, 160 marks, 180 minutes, CASIO FC-200V calculator only. Attempting several full mocks before scheduling helps you calibrate readiness. The pass mark is 50% (80 out of 160 marks) and grades are assigned: A (above 76%), B (65–75%), C (50–64%).
AAFM India's faculty team is available for doubt-resolution throughout your study period. Students on online-live or classroom modes have scheduled contact sessions built into the programme. The alumni network and corporate hiring partner connections open up as you approach certification.

CWM® Registration — Common Questions
You may begin the programme if you have passed 10+2 (Class XII). However, the CWM® charter is awarded only upon completing both examination levels and meeting graduate-level academic eligibility. Candidates who are still studying towards their graduation can begin early and complete their degree alongside the programme.
Choose the Compulsory Pathway if you have less than three years of relevant financial services experience or are new to the field — it guides you through the full curriculum. Choose the Experience Pathway if you have three or more years of relevant work experience; this pathway may allow you to waive the Level I examination. Speak to a counsellor if you are unsure.
Experience Pathway candidates may schedule their first exam from 30 days after registration. Compulsory Pathway candidates must wait 60 days. There must be at least a 15-day gap between any two attempts, and exams must be scheduled at least 30 days before your registration expiry.
Registration is fully online. You submit your contact information via the AAFM India website, complete your student account on the portal, and receive your welcome materials electronically. A downloadable offline form is also available for candidates who prefer to submit details in writing — see the Registration Form page.
Once your application and payment are processed, your student account is typically activated within 7 working days. Your 365-day study window begins from the date of activation, not the date of payment.
Your registration is valid for 365 days from activation, and all levels must be completed within three years. If the three-year window lapses without completion, levels already passed are nullified and re-registration is required. Plan your study schedule to allow time for both levels well within this window.
