Candidates should fill the online exam form and submit the fees to American Academy of Financial Management India Private Limited (AAFM® India). Examinations can be scheduled on the Pearson VUE platform only between the 1st and 10th of every month. Test-taking dates are the 10th to 20th of every month; scheduling is not available during this window.

The examination has three sections (A, B, C) comprising 55 questions totalling 100 marks. The mark value of each question reflects its difficulty level and the time required to answer it.

Step-by-step
Exam Scheduling Process
Exams can only be scheduled after 30 days of registration with AAFM India. Follow the steps below to book your examination slot at a Pearson VUE centre.
Register with AAFM India
Complete your enrolment through AAFM India. The examination can only be scheduled after 30 days from the date of registration. Study your six curriculum modules during this period.
Fill the Exam Form and Pay Fees
Log in to your AAFM India student account, fill the online exam form, and pay the examination fee of Rs. 3,000 online to AAFM India.
Receive Pearson VUE Authorisation
On AAFM India approval, you receive a welcome email from Pearson VUE with your login credentials. You also receive an "Authorisation to Test" email with instructions on how to schedule your examination on the Pearson VUE network.
Schedule Your Exam Slot
Schedule your examination online at pearsonvue.com or through the Pearson VUE Call Centre. Scheduling is available from the 1st to the 10th of every month only. Test dates are exclusively the 10th to 20th of every month. Scheduling is not possible during the exam delivery window.
Practise on the AAFM Platform
Practise examination questions on the AAFM website to become familiar with the look and feel of the computer-based exam interface before your test date.
Attend and Complete the Exam
Arrive at the Pearson VUE test centre at least 30 minutes before your scheduled start time. Carry your original photo ID (with both photo and signature) and the appointment confirmation letter from Pearson VUE. Agree to the Non-Disclosure Agreement at the start of the exam. Results are displayed on screen immediately after submission.
Post-Exam: Certification
On clearing the examination, fill the Chartered Economist Certification form and pay the requisite certification fees to AAFM India. Submit the required project work within the given time frame. On approval of the project work, you receive the Chartered Economist certification.
Rules & Policies
Examination Rules, Policies & Key Requirements
Candidates are not permitted to carry any paper, laptop, palmtop, log tables, or annuity tables into the examination. Only the "Casio FC 200V" financial calculator is allowed. Mobile phones must be switched off and may not be taken into the testing room. Candidates will be provided one erasable note board and a pen for rough work.
Candidates must arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled exam time. A late arrival grace period of up to 30 minutes applies. Candidates arriving after this window may be turned away and marked as a no-show. Fees are not refunded for no-shows.
Rescheduling is permitted up to 48 hours before the examination, on payment of Rs. 3,000 to Pearson VUE. Rescheduling is not permitted within 48 hours of the exam. Exams once scheduled cannot be cancelled. If a candidate does not schedule within the registration eligibility period, fees paid are forfeited and a fresh fee is required on renewal.
Candidates may book a retake after 10 days, regardless of whether the previous attempt was passed or failed. The full examination fee applies for each retake attempt.
AAFM India follows a policy of non-discrimination. The same online testing medium, algorithm, facilities, and passing threshold applies to all candidates without distinction of sector, region, caste, religion, age, gender, or qualification.
No questions or parts of the examination may be copied from the screen or taken out of the examination hall. Documents submitted at the centre are the property of AAFM India and are confidential. Violations may result in disqualification of candidature.
Acceptable Photo IDs
Candidates must carry an original (not photocopied) primary ID with both a photograph and signature. Acceptable IDs include: Driver's licence, Passport, Election card / Voter ID, PAN card, Photo identity issued by a school or college or university, UID/Aadhaar card, SC/ST certificate with photograph, Employee ID with photo and signature. Names on IDs must exactly match those given during registration.

Ch.E® Examination — Frequently Asked Questions
The passing score is 50%. There is no negative marking. Each candidate is graded: A (more than 76%), B (65–75%), C (50–64%), D (0–49%). A score of 50 out of 100 is required to pass.
Examinations are taken on the 10th to 20th of every month at Pearson VUE centres. Scheduling (booking) can only be done between the 1st and 10th of the month; the system closes for new bookings during the exam delivery window (10th to 20th).
Registration is through AAFM India. After paying the exam fee and receiving AAFM India approval, you receive a welcome email from Pearson VUE with your login credentials and an "Authorisation to Test" email with scheduling instructions. The exam must be scheduled at least 48 hours before the test date.
