AFA® Admission — eligibility and how to apply
Enrol after 10+2, study at your own pace, and earn a globally recognised analyst designation. The admission process is straightforward — here is exactly how it works.
Who can apply for the AFA®?
The AFA® is designed to be accessible — you can begin while still completing your undergraduate degree, making it ideal for ambitious students and early-career professionals alike.
You are eligible to enrol if…
- You have completed 10+2 (Intermediate / Higher Secondary) from a recognised board
- You are currently pursuing or have completed a bachelor's degree in any discipline (finance, commerce, economics, business, or any other)
- You are a working professional seeking to formalise or upgrade analytical skills
- You are an MBA or postgraduate in finance looking to add a globally recognised analyst credential
Important condition at certification
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required at the time the AFA® designation is granted — not at enrolment
- Candidates who pass all exams before completing their bachelor's degree will receive the certification only after producing their degree certificate

How to apply — step by step
From filling the form to receiving your Welcome Mail, the entire process can be completed in a few days.
Fill in the registration form and choose your payment method
Visit the AAFM India website and complete the online registration form. Your email address becomes your login ID for the student account. You will also need to upload a recent passport-size photograph at this stage. Choose whether you will pay online (credit/debit card — EMI available), by demand draft, or by NEFT/RTGS bank transfer.
Pay the programme registration fee
Complete your payment through the method selected. For online payments, the gateway confirms the transaction immediately. For demand drafts, make the DD payable to American Academy of Financial Management India Pvt. Ltd. For NEFT/RTGS, transfer to ICICI Bank Account 135305000325 (IFSC: ICIC0001353) and retain your transaction receipt. See the fees page for full fee details.
Log in and complete your student account profile
Use your registered email address and password to log in to your student account. Complete the registration form within the account by providing your educational qualifications, work experience details, and any other required information. This step activates your access to the online study material.
Print, sign and mail the registration form with documents
Print the completed registration form from your student account. Sign it and mail it to AAFM India along with your supporting documents (educational certificates, identity proof) and offline payment proof if applicable — or attach the online payment receipt if you paid digitally.
Receive your Welcome Mail and begin studying
Once AAFM India receives and verifies your registration form and documents, they will send you a Welcome Mail confirming your registration. Your student account is now fully active and you can begin studying from the online study material. You may schedule your Level I examination 30 days after registration activation.
What to prepare before you apply
Having your documents ready makes the process faster. Gather these before you start the registration form.
Educational certificates
10+2 mark sheet or certificate. If you hold a bachelor's or higher degree, include those certificates as well. If currently pursuing a degree, a bonafide student letter may be acceptable — .
Passport-size photograph
A recent colour photograph in passport size. This is uploaded digitally to your student account during the registration form — no physical copy needed at the online stage.
Identity proof
Government-issued photo ID such as Aadhaar card, passport, voter ID, or driving licence.
Payment proof
If paying offline (demand draft or NEFT/RTGS), bring or mail the DD or retain your bank transaction receipt. For online payments, the system records payment automatically — attach the email confirmation.
After your registration is confirmed
Your 365-day registration period starts from activation. Here is how to make the most of it.
Once you receive your Welcome Mail, your student account is fully active. Use the online study material to work through the Level I curriculum — Macroeconomics and Markets, Financial Statement Analysis, Corporate Finance, Corporate Valuations, and Research and Reporting Techniques. See the curriculum page for a full subject breakdown.
You may schedule your Level I examination on the Pearson VUE portal 30 days after your registration is activated. The exam is available year-round at 75+ Indian cities and 200+ global locations. Refer to the examination page for the full pattern, duration, and scheduling rules.
After passing Level I, you may proceed to study for Level II and schedule that examination in the same way.
